He completed Chartered Accountancy course by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in the year 1980. He is a Bachelor of Commerce from Bangalore University (1970) and Bachelor in General Law from Bangalore University.

He did his article training from K P Rao and Co, Bangalore. He joined the firm Nagarajan and Co in the year 1989 as a partner. Before joining the firm He practiced along with Mr.Nagarajan under the firm name P. S. S. Murthy and Associates from the year 1982 to 1989.

Before joining practice He had wide exposure in the industry working in various capacities, which included

• As an officer in Vysya Bank (Now known ING Vysya Bank) in Industrial Finance Cell for about 6 years and the responsibilities included appraisal and viability study of projects and preparation of project reports.
• As chief accounts officer in Hotel Fernhill Palace Ooty and Hotel Rajendra Vilas Imperial Mysore of Palace Group of Hotels during his employment tenure at Nagarajan and Co.

His areas of specialization includes;

• Preparation, Review and Appraisal of Projects reports for Bank Finance and State Financial Organisational funding.
• Has in depth knowledge and experience in the field of Value Added Tax, Entry Tax and Central Sales Tax.
• Statutory audits and assurance assignments under various statutes including companies act.
• Various government audits including statutory audits of government undertakings.

Currently he heads Audit, Bank Audit and Project Management taxation at the firm.
