He completed Chartered Accountancy course by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in the year 1987. He is also a Bachelor of Commerce from Mysore University (1981).

He did his article training under the guidance of Mr. P Nagarajan, founder partner of Nagarajan& Co. Joined as a partner of the firm soon after completion of CA in the year 1989.

He is in the field of Direct Taxation since 25 years, having rich knowledge  taxation, planning and consultation. He has authority on wide spectrum of subjects and some of the areas of his specialization includes;

•  Corporate tax planning and non-corporate, individual tax planning.
• Undertaken statutory, Income-Tax audits of Corporate including Listed Companies, Government Companies under variety of applicable laws.
• Provides varied forms of advisory services covering a wide spectrum of industries.
• Income-tax representation with various authorities regarding assessments.
• Handling Income-tax search and survey cases for clients.
• Consultation and obtaining approvals for Project with RBI/STPI, Central and State Government

Currently heads audit and assurance, Mergers and Acquisitions and bank audit, direct taxation practice at the firm.
